(1) In accordance with Section 49 of the Act, two or more parties may submit an application to the Commission within the period specified in sub-rule (1) of Rule 15 to jointly participate in the election by taking the election symbol or any other election symbol obtained by a party.
(2) When making an application to participate in the election by taking a single election symbol according to sub-rule 1, along with the decision of the central committee of such parties, the chief officials or authorized persons of the respective parties shall jointly submit an application to the Commission as per Schedule-13.
(3) In relation to the application made according to sub-rule 2, the Commission shall, after examining according to rule 17 and finding that the process according to the Act and this regulation has been completed, such parties shall be jointly registered for the purpose of such election.
(4) Any party registered jointly as per sub-rule (3) shall not be registered as a separate party for the same election purpose.
(5) If a party applying for election purposes in accordance with rule 16 is registered jointly with another party in accordance with sub-rule (3) by taking a single election symbol and participating in the election, such party shall not be registered separately for that election purpose.
